Cheddar Burst Burgers - another gem on Visayas Ave.

Just when I thought I've known and tasted the best that our side of the city has to offer, here comes another foodie place to tickle the palate and make work breaks more exciting. If you've read some of my past posts in this blog, you know I go to work on Visayas Ave. and since I started here 12 years ago, I've eaten at almost all restaurants here, known the hits and misses, as well as seen new ones open and those with slow business fold up.
Just three years ago, my co-workers and mine's favorite burger place was Big Better Burgers at Wilcon City and we were sad that it didn't stay too long. Thankfully, after such a long time of having no great burger on Visayas Ave., came Cheddar Burst Burgers on the fourth quarter of 2015. The first time I tried it, I only bought a hamburger and ate it in the office. I was impressed! The beef patty had the perfect smoky flavor and blend of spices and was grilled to perfection. With veggies tossed in between the buns, my burger was heavenly! I knew I had to come back.
And so did I two weeks ago with one of my kids. I was excited to let my daughter taste the burger at Cheddar Burst, knowing she'd love it as I did.
Our orders:

This is the 1/3 lb. American Juicy Lucy. At P180, it comes with iced tea and fries. And if you dine between 11 am-4 pm everyday, the price goes down to P170 plus you get to eat all the fries that you can stuff yourself with. What could be a better deal than that? But it's really the burger that's the star here. If you notice, cheese is oozing out of the thick beef patty, giving you a burst of goodness on first bite. Yup, they don't simply put a slice of cheese on top of the burger patty, they stuff it right inside, such that the cheddar melts with the heat upon cooking and bursts out afterwards to give the diner a unique burger-eating experience. Mmm, this is sooo good! I'm telling you, this Juicy Lucy's one for the books.

Buffalo chicken wings, P165, four pieces. I don't really go for sweet, saucy fried chicken but I ordered this to give it a try. Well, nothing to sing praises about these wings that go with a sour cream (not sure about this, though) dip but no regrets either.

Endless fries that seem to me are the real thing - not frozen but freshly-cut

 Lunch for two

Inside Cheddar Burst Burgers

Cheddar Burst Burgers on Visayas Ave., Diliman, Quezon City

As you can see in the pictures, this burger joint is one straight-up place to eat a burger - no frills, no fancy interiors. Come if you want a really good beef sandwich and leave happy and satisfied. And yes, they have two more stores - along Lilac St. in Marikina City
and on Chico St., Project 2, Quezon City.
Happy eating!
