The Dimsum Place at Fisher Mall

I discovered a good restaurant offering Chinese cuisine at Fisher Mall just before 2019 ended and it got me hooked. I was no doubt charmed by the food and ambiance at
The Dimsum Place that I went back for three consecutive weeks, with company
on two occasions. Not everything was good, though, but I would
definitely come back for those delish offers that I loved.
Here's what I/we had tried.

Xiao long bao (soup dumplings)
This was love both at first sight and first bite (or should I say first slurp? Hahaha!).
See how big each piece is? They're soupy and yummy, too!

Pork asado egg noodle soup
This was the bomb, my top favorite so far. The soup was absolutely delicious - hot, flavorful, immensely satisfying and comforting to my hungry tummy.
There was also a lot of pork slices, you won't be left wanting.

Chicken wings fried rice plate
Loved this one too! The chicken was crunchy and flavor-packed, and the rice delicious, too. My beloved dog named Taco, who was with me, loved it too.
Fried chicken is his absolute favorite!

Breaded porkchop rice plate
My son's lunch on one Sunday. I had a bite and loved the meat slices
that were fried to perfection: crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside.

Bihon guisado
This was a miss for me, sadly. Pancit bihon is one of my top comfort foods, so I felt kinda let down. It looked good with lots of veggies and some meat
but it was bland for my taste. Adding some soy
 sauce and chili helped, though.

Vegetarian rice rolls
Another miss for me, sorry to say. I'm not familiar with this dish and don't know what the ingredients are but there's a pungent odor to it that put me off.

Oolong Tea
I loved the clean taste of this tea. Perfect for washing
the palate after a good meal.

Lemon iced tea
My son's default choice of drink. The Dimsum Place makes a good blend.

Tie guan yin tea
Not as great as the oolong tea but nevertheless good in cleaning off the taste buds.

I could say that The Dimsum Place is one of the best restaurants at Fisher Mall. Though not everything of what I/we have ordered is crave-worthy, the ones I loved outweigh the misses. I would definitely come back for the xiao long bao and noodle soup. I want to try other dishes, too. I could say that the food is of high quality, the place is elegant and clean and the prices reasonable.
Most of the crew are friendly and attentive and service is fast. If you come starving, don't worry, you won't wait very long for your food to be served. The Dimsum Place
is definitely one of my new favorite restaurants at Fisher Mall.
Try this place today, folks, to celebrate Chinese New Year.

Revisits to The Paw Club

Have you been to The Paw Club, folks, especially those of you who have fur babies? This lovely place where humans can dine together with their beloved pet dogs is my favorite restaurant at the Mall of Asia (SM by the Bay). It's my "happy place" where my family and our fur kids can enjoy good food together and delight
in seeing and petting other cute dogs as well.
Our minipins don't play with other dogs but they do love watch them frolic. Both the fur babies and us humans also enjoy the good food at The Paw Club. They're not just yummy, they're eye candies too, being nicely plated in not-your-ordinary plates. I've visited this place three times and also blogged about it last year, but I want to share about the other menu items we tried on our second and third visit just last week.
So here are the delicious food we had:

Kettle Cooked Chips
I absolutely love this! The chips are freshly made, crunchy and especially yummy
when dipped in sour cream. Perfect for munching when hanging out with the dogs!

Seafood Aglio Olio pasta
Delicious, healthy and filling!

Chicken Salad in Croissant
This was another thing to love. Just look at the generous filling! Chunks of chicken meat are perfectly spiced and blended with a special dressing then tucked in between flaky croissant. You'd love this with a cup of joe, just like I did.

Pomodoro Pasta
My son loved this one although this was different from the sweet pasta
he likes to eat in fast food chains.

Black Tea with Rock Salt and Cheese
Refreshingly healthy, this one.

Cafe Latte
The Paw Club surprisingly serves heavenly coffee. Not tame
but not too strong either. Love, love, love!

Meanwhile, here's our cute baby Taco during his visit to The Paw Club.

You could tell he enjoyed the food as well!

What Taco had:

Spaghetti Bolognese pasta

Banana Pupcake

The Paw Club serves a really cute pooch-shaped cheesecake. We ordered it on our first visit. In case, you hadn't seen my post last year, here's what it looks like.

It's not the best-tasting cheesecake but it's definitely cute. Hahaha!

The Paw Club at MOA is a must-visit if you have pet dogs, dearies. I guarantee you lots of fun with your babies, especially when you both mingle with other humans
and their four-legged kids. Savor the mouthwatering food as well!
Happy eating!

Hawker Chan opens at SM City San Lazaro

And so it turned out that my last foodie discovery of 2019 was Hawker Chan. I know this isn't something new for some of you, folks, but it was my first visit to this Michelin-starred restaurant franchise from Singapore last Dec. 31, after making last-minute purchases before preparing our Media Noche. I'm not a fan of queues, y'know, so I waited for the hype to simmer down and the SM City San Lazaro branch to open (just last week, I think) as it is close to home. I was with my daughter, who had dined at Hawker Chan-MOA together with her boyfie just a day earlier. She didn't mind being back too soon, saying she wanted to try other offers on the menu.
Our orders:

Wonton Noodle Soup

Soya Sauce Chicken Noodle

Fried Dumplings

Hawker Chan at the ground level of SM City San Lazaro beside Hukad

My Wonton Noodle Soup was a bit of a letdown because the broth and noodles were bland for my taste. The wonton dumplings were flavorful, thankfully, and there was a lot too (six pieces!). The serving size was big, and I wasn't able to finish everything.
The Soya Sauce Chicken Noodle was really good, on the other hand. The meat was bursting with flavors and tender as well. I also liked the fried dumplings although
I dissed their chili sauce which wasn't hot at all!
Overall, it was an enjoyable first visit to Hawker Chan. I could say the food
was generally good at amazingly low prices and the store was clean,
well-lighted and spacious. I'll be back soon, this, I know for sure.

A blessed 2020 to all!

It's the first day of a brand new year! What did everyone have for media noche? Lechon was the centerpiece of our spread and maybe, the same was on your tables. We will all be having lechon paksiw for days, I guess. Hahaha!
Happy New Year, my dear friends and readers!
I pray that we will all have a blessed, fruitful year ahead!

Greg & Sally Garden Cafe, Pan de Amerikana Bakery & Restaurant in Marikina

Last November, I went to Marikina to visit a friend and former co-worker who has retired from government service. It was only my second time in my entire life to visit this city! I had been wanting to go for the longest time after reading about all the lovely restaurants that have opened up in Marikina and visiting my friend offered the perfect chance. First, we had lunch at the beautiful Greg & Sally Garden Cafe then dessert
at the equally lovely Pan de Amerikana Bakery & Restaurant.
These two are must-visits in Marikina, folks!

At Greg & Sally Garden Cafe

Our orders:
Kangkong Chips
I loved this appetite-stimulant. Crunchy greens that
are both yummy and healthy!

Tinapa Pesto Pasta
This was a bit dry but nevertheless tasty.

Peppered Pork Steak and Squash, Potatoes and Rice
My friend, who's a meat-lover, ordered this one. I had a bite and
found the meat to be tender and flavorful. Thumbs up!

Gumamela Iced Tea
My friend's drink of choice. I didn't order any because I planned
to have it elsewhere. Haha!

Marikina is a fascinating and very promising place for those gastronomic adventures. It is teeming with restaurants that offer a variety of cuisines and with lovely ambiance
for that ultimate dining pleasure. I hope to be back soon to try other
places, especially those on Lilac St., which is fast becoming
like Maginhawa St. in Quezon City when it comes
to popularity as a foodie destination.
