Today's Word: Isaiah 53:5

It's Lent once again, the perfect time to pause and meditate on the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross to save us from our sins as His ultimate proof of love. In our church, we have School of the Cross on Good Friday, where our Pastor teaches the details of the events starting from the entry to Jerusalem to the time Jesus gave up His life. The teachings are an eye opener! I couldn't keep a dry eye as we all watched that part of the movie "The Passion of the Christ" where Jesus' flesh was being ripped off by the nail-tipped scourge. He writhed in pain only He could endure. And He did choose to endure all the physical pain. Why? So that He could bear all our sickness and pains!
As our Pastor said this, I found deeper meaning to Isaiah 53:5 and it bolstered my faith. Because I admit that even as a Christian, my faith would sometimes falter when I or a loved one is faced with a health challenge. But now that I have more understanding of what Christ's suffering was all about, the more I appreciate God's tremendous love and care for us, whom He calls His children.

This Good Friday, may we all reflect on the unfathomable, never-ending, steadfast love of Christ and what we must do to give back the best way we can not just to Him but also to other people
who Jesus asked us to love the way we do ourselves.
Have a blessed Holy Week!
