The Dimsum Place at Fisher Mall

I discovered a good restaurant offering Chinese cuisine at Fisher Mall just before 2019 ended and it got me hooked. I was no doubt charmed by the food and ambiance at
The Dimsum Place that I went back for three consecutive weeks, with company
on two occasions. Not everything was good, though, but I would
definitely come back for those delish offers that I loved.
Here's what I/we had tried.

Xiao long bao (soup dumplings)
This was love both at first sight and first bite (or should I say first slurp? Hahaha!).
See how big each piece is? They're soupy and yummy, too!

Pork asado egg noodle soup
This was the bomb, my top favorite so far. The soup was absolutely delicious - hot, flavorful, immensely satisfying and comforting to my hungry tummy.
There was also a lot of pork slices, you won't be left wanting.

Chicken wings fried rice plate
Loved this one too! The chicken was crunchy and flavor-packed, and the rice delicious, too. My beloved dog named Taco, who was with me, loved it too.
Fried chicken is his absolute favorite!

Breaded porkchop rice plate
My son's lunch on one Sunday. I had a bite and loved the meat slices
that were fried to perfection: crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside.

Bihon guisado
This was a miss for me, sadly. Pancit bihon is one of my top comfort foods, so I felt kinda let down. It looked good with lots of veggies and some meat
but it was bland for my taste. Adding some soy
 sauce and chili helped, though.

Vegetarian rice rolls
Another miss for me, sorry to say. I'm not familiar with this dish and don't know what the ingredients are but there's a pungent odor to it that put me off.

Oolong Tea
I loved the clean taste of this tea. Perfect for washing
the palate after a good meal.

Lemon iced tea
My son's default choice of drink. The Dimsum Place makes a good blend.

Tie guan yin tea
Not as great as the oolong tea but nevertheless good in cleaning off the taste buds.

I could say that The Dimsum Place is one of the best restaurants at Fisher Mall. Though not everything of what I/we have ordered is crave-worthy, the ones I loved outweigh the misses. I would definitely come back for the xiao long bao and noodle soup. I want to try other dishes, too. I could say that the food is of high quality, the place is elegant and clean and the prices reasonable.
Most of the crew are friendly and attentive and service is fast. If you come starving, don't worry, you won't wait very long for your food to be served. The Dimsum Place
is definitely one of my new favorite restaurants at Fisher Mall.
Try this place today, folks, to celebrate Chinese New Year.

AMC Sizzling Palace at Fisher Mall

There's a Mediterranean food place at Fisher Mall that I've been visiting and that's aside from Mister Kabab. Haha! There is this restaurant tucked away in a far end corner of the mall that I got curious about so I tried it then came back two more times. It's called AMC Sizzling Palace and if I remember it right, it comes after Adobo Connection at the second level. It's the last locator in that part of the mall
and is quite inconspicuous.
However, their Chicken Biryani floored me for having all the right flavors at the right amount and the serving was quite huge, it would fill you up to the brim! My orders on my next visits were less spectacular though, so it's still the
biryani that is etched in my mind.

Chicken Biryani, P165.
Delicious and filling! Definitely worth going back for.

Shawarma Sandwich, P75.
The meat was quite tough and lacking in flavors.

Hummus (with pita bread), P135.
The hummus was quite good although a bit bland. And the serving is generous!

If you love Mediterranean food, go find AMC Sizzling Palace at Fisher Mall, guys. But if you're craving for Pinoy food such as bulalo and pansit, you might want to go there too, because they also serve it and based on some reviews I've read, they're quite good at making our favorite comfort foods as well. I would love to have
a good sip of hot bulalo soup next time.
Happy eating, folks!

Quezon Filipino + Spanish Buffet at Fisher Mall

In my previous post, I shared how my office friends and I love to eat buffet style and that we've been to several eat-all-you-can restaurants. One of those places we've been to and enjoyed was Quezon Filipino + Spanish Buffet at the relatively new Fisher Mall in Quezon City. There, it was the simple but classy interiors that immediately impressed us. White (or was it off-white?) was the dominant color, making the huge room bright and airy. And then, as we began lunch, we found out the dishes were all well-executed and high in quality. The spread wasn't really extensive but the quality and taste made up for it. I wasn't able to snap at each and every dish but I'm showing some to give you an idea of what to expect at Quezon Filipino + Spanish Buffet.

Appetizers and salads
Lechon belly, Lechon Manok; Paella, Bangus Inasal, Pork Barbecue

Kare-kare; Embutido; Fried fish

L-R: Pinakbet; Escabeche; Chicken Hamonado

Pork,Chicken and Bangus Sisig

Dessert station

Soda and juice dispenser; Brazo de Mercedes; Turon; Fresh watermelon

Soft ice cream which my friend topped with sweetened langka; Halo-halo

Spanish cuisine is embedded in our own as a result of over 300 years of the Spaniards' rule over our country. Paella, escabeche, hamonado and many other Spanish dishes are already a part of our holiday or fiesta spread. And Quezon Filipino + Spanish Buffet owners obviously know we Pinoys have embraced Spanish dishes as part of our own cuisine. Putting together both countries' cuisine in a buffet restaurant is
one sound idea, I just think so.
Everything I tasted among the dishes was good I couldn't think of what was best. But because Kare-Kare is one of my top favorite "ulam" (viand) of all times, I'd say I enjoyed it the most. Even the desserts I all liked but the turon, leche flan (that I failed to take a picture of because it's always "sold out"!) and
brazo de Mercedes were tops for me.
Try Quezon Filipino + Spanish Buffet, folks! It's perfect for a lunch or dinner out with family and friends where you get to enjoy good food and value for money.
 Happy eating!
